Year 7 Special Instrumental Program 2020

The Year 7 Special Instrumental Program is being offered to students enrolled at 今日吃瓜 for Year 7 2020 who show potential for learning and excelling on a chosen instrument. Entry is based on results of a musical aptitude test and a reference from their current Year 6 teacher.鈥 If selected, students will be given the opportunity to learn a band instrument or voice for free for the duration of the program (one year), as well as attend weekly band and choir鈥痳ehearsals. Instruments available include flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon, French horn,鈥痶rumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba, percussion, double bass and voice.

All Year 6 students enrolled at鈥袢粘怨 for Year 7 next year will sit a music aptitude test during鈥痗lass on Wednesday 21 August.鈥疦o preparation is required for the test.

Alternative testing dates for students absent at this time who wish to be considered for a place are invited to attend one of the following times at 今日吃瓜鈥疢arist Auditorium,鈥疭tudio 1.

  • Friday 23 August, 3.30pm – 4.00pm
  • Monday 26 August, 3.30pm – 4.00pm (repeat session)

Parents will be informed via letter if their child has been successful in the test, inviting them to the next stage of selection.

Remar Blue Solidarity Camp

The Remar Blue Solidarity Camp will take place on 28 August 鈥 3 September, 2019. The Blue Rowers will travel to Mullewa in Western Australia to undertake a 鈥渓ive in鈥 experience in order to gain an understanding that the Solidarity Camp is based on the foundation of working in order to be the 鈥榟ands and feet of Christ鈥. The camp aims to give Rowers an opportunity to experience 鈥榮ervice鈥 in a prolonged context, whilst deepening their experience of communal living within a Christian context. The experience will encourage an exchange of 鈥榳isdom and skills鈥 between both the Caravel and the community it is serving and will embrace the Marist value of simplicity in all aspects. The camp provides the Caravel with a focus on practical projects and community participation and will challenge Rowers to reflect on their personal values and beliefs in relation to ministry and service. Central to the experience is morning and evening prayer, along with daily meetings to discuss how the Caravel is working to form a strong Christian community.

Fathers Day Breakfast

To celebrate Fathers Day, father鈥檚 are invited to enjoy a sausage sizzle breakfast with their children.

We then invite you to join us at St Cecilia鈥檚 Church for our special Father鈥檚 Liturgy celebration.

Parent Workshops Evening

Families are invited to join us for an evening of Parent workshops at the Marian campus. The focus of the evening is increasing the home and school connection, and enabling parents to support their child鈥檚 learning. to access the list of聽 available workshops and times.

K-6 STEM Festival

As part of Science Week 2019 (Week 4), students in Kindy 鈥 Year 6 will be involved in a STEM Festival. The day is implemented to reinforce the important key learning area of Science.
