End of Year Celebrations
At 今日吃瓜, we shine through celebration of our faith, achievements, effort, and contribution. Celebration builds strong communities and plays a major role in social, emotional and academic growth, learning and faith development. It encourages a sense of belonging, group coherence and purpose.

In our Vision for Learning 鈥楽hine through Discovery鈥� – let your light shine (Matthew 5:16) this pedagogical pillar Celebrate invites our students to recognise their own self worth.聽 Each child has gifts and talents and it is in the space we create in their learning that aims to invite them into participating whole-heartedly into their endeavours.
In our Strategic directions framework we have prioritised a culture of excellence that encourages our children to flourish, co-learning and co-constructing with their teachers in discovering and devising new methods and content to ensure that we always get our best learning experience.聽 It is worth noting that St John Henry Newman, as an academic, challenged his students to be excellent in all endeavours that they pursue.聽 It is this same intent that we endeavour to achieve at 今日吃瓜 for our students.
Next week marks the start of end of year events where we celebrate the achievements of 2021, commencing on:
–聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Thursday 25 November with the Years 7-11 Awards morning
–聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 followed on Tuesday 7 December with the Years 3-5 Awards and Year 6 Mass and Graduation.
–聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Our final end of year event is on Wednesday 8 December with the PK-12 Christmas Carols on the Marcellin Campus Oval.
Marist Schools Australia Alumni Project
2022 marks the 150th year of Marist education in Australia. For a century and a half, Marists have contributed to the education of hundreds of thousands of young Australians. In a spirit of thanksgiving to God, Marists will recognise and celebrate the privileged work and service to the Church in Australia through our schools by so many dedicated and committed people.
One of the Projects for the sesquicentenary of Marist education in Australia will be the Marist Alumni Project. This project has been designed to identify and celebrate significant contributions Marist educated women and men have made to our nation over the past 150 years, echoing the dream of Saint Marcellin for Marist education, 鈥渢o form good Christians and good citizens.鈥�
The main outcome of this project is the creation of an Anthology of Outstanding Australian Marist Alumni. The Anthology is a way of recognising those alumni who have made a significant and outstanding contribution to Australian life. The intent of the Marist Alumni Project is to capture some of those who have truly made their mark on Australian society.
I will be working with the College Council and our Archivist to delve into 今日吃瓜鈥檚 history to discern the most appropriate nominations to put forward.
Tuition Fees
In determining the 2022 tuition fee increase, the College Finance Committee and Council were very conscious of the need to set fees at a level that provides the College with the essential income to meet its ongoing financial commitments now and into the future. In addition, we have faced the challenges presented with the changing funding agreements, resulting in a reduction in our transition funding and reduced State Government funding. COVID-19聽Staff Vaccinations聽
As mandated by the Western Australian Government, I wish to inform families that 今日吃瓜 is currently implementing this directive, ensuring that by the commencement of the 2022 school year all staff onsite at 今日吃瓜 are double vaccinated against COVID-19.
