Guild Athletics Carnival

The Guild Athletics Carnival will be held on Thursday 6 August. It is important to note that this is a compulsory school day for all students.

Students must wear their Guild uniform, not PE shirts on this day.

Students are encouraged to bring their own lunch and water. A kiosk is available but there could be long waiting lines and it will be costly.

Year 12 Ball

The Year 12 cohort will come together and enjoy a night of fun, food and dancing at their Year 12 Ball.

The ball is by INVITATION ONLY. Invitations to the ball are connected to students’ presence and participation at the College’s major events.

Students must be in ‘good standing’ (behaviour, attendance, uniform) to receive an invitation to the ball. They are expected to attend school on the day of the ball and will be dismissed at 12.00pm leaving plenty of time for appointments etc. If a student is away sick from school on the day it is expected that they will NOT be present during the evening.

For further queries please contact Carla Pastorelli, Leader of Wellbeing Year 12.

Winter Sleepout

Parents, staff and students are invited to participate in our ‘online sleepout’ to raise community awareness and understanding about the realities people experiencing homelessness face. Families are encouraged to do one or a combination of the following activities on Friday night in solidarity and with our family spirit to better live our Marist Spirituality:

  • Watch some of the videos posted to our social media pages and talk about your thought over dinner
  • Have dinner of sandwiches or soup in a thermos in the car and participate in some of the reflection questions posted to our social media pages
  • Spend the night in your car in your driveway
  • Spend the night in your backyard (outdoors) with or without a tent
  • Spend the night on your couch or the floor

Possible food to keep with you or eat or dinner (this type of dinner is provided to those sleeping rough on the streets every night)

  • Soup or sandwiches
  • Hot thermos of Milo
  • Muesli bars

The sleep out will end the College’s Blanket Drive for St Vincent de Paul. Make sure to check the newsletter and parent communication regarding this and keep an eye for more information about the issue of homelessness in our community on our social media pages.
